Battery box for chopped mountain bike project is fabricated

The battery box for the chopped mountain bike is fabricated and ready to mount to the frame. This will allow the batteries to be moved from the rear rack to below the seat.

This box is a little heavy but is very strong. I can always come back later and lighten it up by drilling holes in it. It could probably be half the weight it is now and still be strong enough.

I designed this box to hold 4 10AH SLA batteries as well as a 48V LiFePO4 batteries that I’ll upgrade to when my SLA batteries wear out.

The next step is to drill some mounting holes and fit the box to the frame. I also need to mount the key switch and charging connector.
